Careers in art History Internship

About

The Careers in Art History Internship program was started during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to offer educational opportunities to undergraduate students, many of whom were unable to attend classes in person. Through this on-line internship program, we introduced students to the diversity of careers in museum administration and the arts, giving students the chance to learn about different career pathways in museums and cultural institutions from a variety of vantage points. The internships provided practical and theoretical training in a variety of professional practices including: art history, museum studies, conservation, library sciences, and archives with the aim of making these skills transferrable to other pursuits. ARIAH held the Careers in Art History Internship Program over four years, and we currently feature our past interns on our website.

Due to limited resources, we are not continuing the program although we would be happy to offer consultations to other institutions looking to hold online internships, as we found the program to be successful and impactful for our interns.
